The Monterey Bay Interbranch Council (IBC) annual February meeting was fortunate to have as our speaker the Honorable Congresswoman Jackie Speier. Her talk was billed as a tribute to the late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. A most enlightening question and answer session followed.
Congresswoman Jackie Speier, 14th Congressional District, is a graduate of UC Davis and UC Hastings College of Law. She advocates for women’s rights and supports the decisions made by Justice Ginsburg for fair pay, LGBTQ equality, and same-sex marriage. She is on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.. She is the author of Undaunted: Surviving Jonestown, Summoning Courage, and Fighting Back, 2018. She is a member of the AAUW North Peninsula branch..
