To mark the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Silicon Valley branch hosted an outreach event open to branch members as well as members of the community on January 22, 2024. Dr. Christine Hennenberg spoke about the future of reproductive rights to 68 attendees, including AAUW Bay Area members, League of women Voters members, and members of the general public. President Allyson Johnson noted that the event was “promoted in local newspapers, online calendars, and NextDoor,” and that it was “very successful in attracting viewers from the community, other AAUW branches and partner organizations.” She said it “created interest among non-AAUW viewers toward joining our branch.
