The School Board Project is entering its next phase, focusing on monitoring school boards for compliance with California laws. The AAUW California Public Policy Committee is collaborating with the Public School Defenders Hub to ensure our members have the tools to be effective monitors and reporters.
The toolkit for this phase includes (additional items will be added as they become available):
- A video presentation on April 24, 2025, co-sponsored by AAUW California Public Policy Committee and the Public School Defenders Hub (HERE).
- The slide deck for the presentation (HERE) provides valuable information on all current relevant laws, roles and responsibilities of board members, and guidelines for filing complaints for non-compliance.
