San Fernando Valley Branch Gifts Suffragist Quilt and Recognizes NCCWSL Recipient 2024

On August 30, 2024, AAUW San Fernando Valley Branch members met with Cal State University Northridge (CSUN) faculty and students to celebrate the gifting of a beautiful Suffragist quilt, created by a branch member who is a master quilter, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment. The quilt was raffled off in March 2020 and won by a member of the San Fernando Valley Branch who donated it to the Cal State University Northridge Women’s Research & Resource Center. It took four years, a pandemic intervening, for the branch to finally celebrate the gifting of the quilt.

The meeting included both CSUN C/U representatives as well as the 2024 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) recipient who regaled the group with her experiences and takeaways from the conference. If ever a program hit its mark, this year’s recipient was certainly proof of that. AAUW San Fernando Valley expects great things from her in the future!
