Michelle Davis Baer Candidate Bio 2024

January 10, 2024

Describe any previous branch positions and years you served.

I am a relatively new member to AAUW and have yet to serve on my local branch board.

Describe any AAUW California positions and years you served.

Communications Committee Member (2023-present)

Talk about any AAUW California conventions you attended in the last five years.

None

Talk about any pertinent community activities or connections and their corresponding dates.

I started an interest group in my local branch (mid-2023) with the aim of providing technology training to interested members.

Describe your employment/professional experience, including current employment.

I am software developer for a non-profit organization. Predominately, I have worked with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which is an enterprise resource planning system, but I also work with Salesforce, Boomi integration services, and other platforms. Depending upon the size of the project, I may also train the end users and generate the training documentation for them.

Describe any other special skills or experience.

I enjoy learning new technologies and tools, and I am always eager to take on new challenges and opportunities that expand my skills and knowledge. I am a solution-oriented thinker with excellent troubleshooting skills.

Give your reasons for running for this office.

The mission of equality is very meaningful to me. I see gender inequity acutely in the tech field. I feel this opportunity would allow me to have a positive impact on promoting the mission of gender equity and would be a positive benefit for me in terms of leadership growth, personal fulfillment, and the satisfaction of making a difference.

Are you available to visit branches statewide?
