Campers from Northern California attend Tech Trek at Sonoma State, which is located east of Rohnert Park and north of Cotati, approximately 10 miles south of Santa Rosa and 50 miles north of San Francisco. The Tech Trek Program first came to Sonoma State in 2008 after seven years at Mills College in Oakland.
Our camp is named after Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958), a British chemist and x-ray crystallographer. A forgotten heroine, she discovered key properties of specific proteins of DNA through her work on the x-ray diffraction images. This led to the discovery of the DNA double helix.
What’s special about TT at Sonoma? How about a field trip to Russian River watershed, astronomy night, picturesque campus, facilities…and a variety of engaging, hands-on STEM workshops?
