Mariposans can tumble down the rabbit hole and follow the White Rabbit to an adventure in Wonderland at a uniquely themed fundraiser to support AAUW’s programs for local students. Meet Alice and the Queen of Hearts, play flamingo croquet, and indulge in hearty tea party treats on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at 4:30 pm at the Mariposa Fairgrounds picnic area.

Tickets are $50 presale and $60 at the door and can be purchased online at www.aauwmariposa.com. In the event of rain, the event will be held in Building B at the fairgrounds.

Guests are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the whimsical world of Alice and her friends. Highlights will include a live and silent auction including one-of-a-kind experiences provided by AAUW members, such as candlelight gourmet meals, pool parties, crafting lessons, docent hikes, tickets to professional events, and more.

The enchantment will continue with fanciful decorations, lawn games, a photo booth, and a buffet of food from AAUW’s renowned cooks and bakers. A no-host bar will keep the Cheshire Cat smiling.

Proceeds from the Mad Hatter’s event will benefit the community service and educational projects of Mariposa AAUW, a branch of the national AAUW organization dedicated to advancing equity for women and girls. AAUW supports local projects such as Tech Trek, a weeklong science camp for girls and the Backpack Project to distribute needed school supplies.
