Crazy, Curious, Cogent, Creative FUNDSraisers

November 15, 2013

There are many imaginative ways to fundraise for AAUW Funds and these three branches deserve an award for their inventiveness in gathering donations.

Sunnyvale-Cupertino held a “Phantom Benefit”.  This is what it looked like.
A PHANTOM BENEFIT!
  • PLACE: Nowhere
  • DATE: Never
  • TIME: Whenever you choose (Casual dress optional-jammies will do!)
  • RSVP by sending $10 before October 31 to enjoy the PHANTOM BENEFIT
Novato has had this “Trick or Treat for AAUW Funds” before.  On Halloween night, the Funds Committee “trick or treats” to the members’ homes for donations to AAUW Funds.
Tustin held a mock high school reunion as an AAUW Funds fundraiser. The format was a pretend class reunion of an imaginary high school. Everyone who sent an RSVP was mailed a fake identity and name tag, complete with a “biography” and hints of high school romances, vendettas, foibles and scores to settle.
