On October 19, 2024, the Carlsbad-Oceanside-Vista branch and the Del Mar-Leucadia branch jointly sponsored an Election Information Event at the Encinitas Senior Center. The League of Women Voters gave a presentation on the ballot propositions. Seena Trigas, president of the Carlsbad-Oceanside-Vista branch, presented information about AAUW California’s School Board Project. The event was attended by one hundred people; twenty of them were members of the Carlsbad-Oceanside Vista branch, thirty of them were members of the Del Mar-Leucadia branch, and the rest were community members responding to flyers and newspaper articles promoting the event.
Feedback from the participants was very positive, with much appreciation expressed for the information that was presented. This was a wonderful example of two branches joining together to provide election information to their members and to the community.
