Describe any AAUW California positions and years you served.

I joined AAUW California in early 2020 and joined the AAUW CA Public Policy committee in July of the same year. It has been my privilege to serve on the Public Policy committee these last 2.5 years.

Talk about any AAUW California conventions you attended in the last five years.

N/A.

Talk about any pertinent community activities or connections and their corresponding dates.

I retired in late 2019 and have since been an active volunteer with several nonprofit organizations. In addition to my work with the AAUW CA Public Policy committee, I have been working since October 2021 with The Class Consulting Group (CLASS), a volunteer-run nonprofit providing pro bono business consulting services to local nonprofit organizations. In August 2022 I joined the Board of CLASS as Chair of Nonprofit Relations. I have also been working with Meemli, a startup nonprofit focused on education equity, since August 2021.

Talk about any AAUW National conventions you have attended.

Describe any AAUW National positions and years you served.

N/A.

Describe your employment/professional experience, including current employment.

After spending 9 years working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Aerospace industry, I moved into Account Management in the Tech industry. Account Management turned out to be the perfect career path for me, allowing me to use my interpersonal skills to build client relationships and business acumen to drive account strategies, all while drawing on my technical background. I worked in Account Management for the next 24 years, finally retiring at the end of 2019.

Are you available to visit branches statewide?

YES

Describe any other special skills or experience.

Organizational, communications, Microsoft office.

Give your reasons for running for this office.

AAUW CA has been incredibly fortunate to have Kathi Harper lead our Public Policy committee these last several years. Kathi has been an amazing leader and now that she is termed out, Melissa Maceyko and I have agreed to co-chair the committee as well as run for the associated Board position.
