The COVID-19 virus outbreak has everyone concerned, including the AAUW California Board of Directors.
Our AAUW California Convention scheduled for April 17-19 is just around the corner. At this time, your state leadership and the convention organizing committee are still planning and preparing to hold the event and provide attendees with an incredible learning and social opportunity.
Rest assured that we care about your health and we are monitoring the recommendations of the CDC and local officials and will follow them as they relate to public gatherings. On March 11th, Governor Newsom recommended limitations on gatherings that are effective through the end of March and can be found HERE. The board of directors is determining our options and next steps and will make a decision by early April. We’ll also provide updates on our website and Facebook page.
We are all hopeful that the convention will go forward as planned and look forward to sharing the experience with you.
