2020 Summary Report Tech Trek Wearable Tech STEM Camp

In partnership with Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™, the American Association of University Women (AAUW)
offered a virtual Wearable Tech Trek.

Students enjoyed the Tech Trek Wearable Virtual Camp. As indicated by the significant gains in many
different aspects of the camp program, the Tech Trek Camp had an impact on the young women who
participated. It is interesting that when students were given an option to name two careers of interest to them
at both pre- and post-survey, those specifying engineering as their first career choice went from 15% to 41%.
The daily opportunities to hear virtually from a woman engineer or scientist of color may have been a
contributing factor.
