A 2007-08 AAUW International Fellow, she is currently an Assistant Professor, Entomology and African-American Studies Departments, at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The recipient of multiple national and international awards, Dr. Ngumbi is the founder of organizations that empower farmers and youth in Kenya and has received three U.S. patents for her research.
Dr. Ngumbi believes that everyone has a right to live a dignified life. She has dedicated all of her passion, intellect, heart, and resources to bringing sustainable change in her community and has become a powerful role model for women and girls.
