I currently volunteer at Solutions for Change in Vista, Ca. They are a homeless solutions program primarily for women and children to bring an end to homelessness here in North County San Diego. I make and take food to serve the residents at the intake shelter, which is the first 45 days of their program, once a month with my husband and children.
I was invited, this past August, to volunteer at a local STEM camp, through the EcoLogik program at Cabrillo National Monument, as a exhibitor due to my Certification as a California Naturalist. I was there to teach middle school girls about the natural science field of Southern California.
I also just started working with The Center for Justice and Reconciliation at Point Loma Nazarene University on identifying business that can participate in education of the employees on the signs of human trafficking. There is no central organization here that works with the local businesses, and we are looking to add a subcommittee to the CJR organization.

I am currently working on my MBA, graduating in August of 2020. I also have my California Naturalist Certification through the University of California-Agriculture and Natural Resources. The reason that I obtained this certification was so that I could provide guided hikes throughout Southern California to the Tech Trek Girls Alumni Group to foster interest within the natural science field for girls that have an interest in that area.

I was identified by my local branch to run for office due to my leadership capabilities and love of the organization.
75 Word Goal Statement
I feel that the leadership ability that I can bring to the table can assist in advancing the mission of AAUW through advocating of woman’s rights within the business world, mainly in human trafficking. I would work with local businesses to identify the signs of human trafficking, train employees to be aware of the signs and how to involve them to bring a solution to assist the women and girls to acquire the skills needed in order to stay out of the industry, eventually becoming self-sufficient.
