Since 1994, AAUW's Voter Education Campaign has protected priority
issues through activities such as issue and candidate forums, voter
guides, phone banks, opinion editorials, and letters to the editor.
For information about actions you can take to educate your local
voters, check out our resource page.
Before you start a formal program, also peruse the
rules for
AAUW voter education activities on the national AAUW website.
This and other many useful documents are available on Association's
main Voter Education
Campaign site.
An excellent resource for general information
about elections in California is Smart Voter. As a project of the
League of Women Voters of California, it provides nonpartisan election information. You
can view a sample ballot for your precinct, along with candidate and issue information links.
You may also find the California legislature voting records
useful to find out the incumbents' positions.
