Sponsored by the American Association of University Women - California, the Women's Leadership Training Institute (WLTI) will provide targeted leadership training in the area of workplace skills, negotiation and mediation, community organizing, grassroots development and lobbying.  There will also be a session on how to participate in the electoral process.  There will be time for networking and discussion.

 

 

 WLTI's Keynote Speaker is Juana Bordas, President of Mestiza Leadership International and founding President of the National Hispana Leadership Institute.  Her presentation is "Moving On Up - Women's Leadership, Power and Influence."

 

 

 Speakers will include:

  • Amber Schmidt, of Catalyst, on workplace issues
  • Karen Weinstein, Chair of the Women’s Caucus, California Democratic Party on running for office (this will be a non-partisan presentation)
  • Charlotte Newhart, AAUW CA Legislative Advocate, on activism, advocacy and grassroots organizing
  • Erin Spalding, US Federal Mediator, on negotiation

This is an open event and non-members are welcome. Sessions will run consecutively so that all may participate.  Sessions will also be interactive.   Refreshments will be served.
