AAUW Funds

About AAUW Funds

In 2009, the various funds we support in AAUW were organized into a structure called AAUW Funds.  No longer called the Educational Foundation, those funds providing educational opportunities and equity for women and girls through research and support of fellowship and grants programs, including International Fellowships, American Fellowships, Selected Professions Fellowships, and Research and Projects Grants, are all included in AAUW Funds.  Also included are the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund for Women and Girls, which has long supported research on gender equity in education, and the Legal Advocacy, Public Policy and Leadership Programs Funds.

A diagram which graphically displays all the AAUW Funds can be found on the AAUW National website or by clicking HERE.  This diagram is a good tool to use when explaining the new organization of the funds.

You can see a current list of AAUW Funds, including unfinished California Endowments, in the Forms & Documents section under AAUW Funds or by clicking HERE.

Fellowships and Grants

AAUW has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe.  One of the world's largest sources of funding for graduate women,  AAUW is providing more than $3 million in funding for more than 200 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and non-profit organizations in the 2009-10 academic year.  Due to the longstanding generous contributions of AAUW members across the U.S., a broader community of women continues to gain access to educational and economic opportunities -- breaking through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance.

Information about applying for fellowships and grants programs is available on the Fellowships and Grants  page of the National AAUW website. AAUW values and seeks diversity in both applicants and panelists who review applications.  Brochures may be ordered HERE.
