The 2012 AAUW-SLT Historic Home Tour will showcase eight uniquely restored vacation homes and primary residences within the Al Tahoe neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe.  These special homes have been lovingly preserved, with care taken to retain their original character and rustic architectural style while adapting to modern life.  Several of the homes date back to the first pioneer settlement at Lake Tahoe and reflect the rich history of this quaint lakeside enclave.

 

The tour begins at noon and will continue until 4 p.m., rain or shine.  Attendees may walk, drive or bike along the route of this self-guided tour.  On street parking will be available at all locations.  Volunteers will be on hand at each home to answer questions and highlight points of interest.  Refreshments will be available at the nearby Pichetti Winery on Lake Tahoe Blvd throughout the event.

 

Proceeds from this bi-annual fundraiser will provide college scholarships for women graduates of Lake Tahoe Community College and Tech Trek math and science camp scholarships for local 7th grade girls.
