The AAUW Educational Foundation
provides educational opportunities and equity for women and girls through research and
support of fellowship and grants programs, including International Fellowships, American
Fellowships, Selected Professions Fellowships, and Research and Projects Grants.
The
Foundation also established the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund for Women and Girls, which has supported
teacher fellows and research on gender equity in education since 1988. The Foundation
values and seeks diversity in both applicants and panelists who review applications.
Of the more than $4 million the Foundation awards each year for grants, fellowships and
research, AAUW California contributes over $500,000. In 2004-2005, nearly 200 outstanding women
received funding. We had twenty recipients studying in California.
The Foundation also makes Community Action grants, which are available to branches and states.
AAUW California began our Tech Trek
science camp for girls between 7th and 8th grades with such a grant.
Visit the Foundation for information about seeking a
grant or fellowship.
Fellows are available to speak to branch groups. See
Request a Fellow for details.
