Beginning today, October 2015, branches that wish to send girls to Tech Trek Camps in 2016 can submit their reservations now. Send your request, name of camp and number of campers, to Linda Stinebaugh, State Coordinator for Tech Trek, firstname.lastname@example.org. Donation checks should be payable to AAUW and sent to the camp treasurer for deposit.
During a workshop on veterinary medicine, Trinka March DVM talks with one table of campers while another table practices suturing. As the campers rotated through the tables, they also read about parasites and learned how to prep for surgery.
This workshop is just one of the afternoon activities at Tech Trek Camp Hopper this week.
The camp, held at Stanford University, is led by Co-Directors Maureen Buchner and Melinda Moir.

2015 Camp Dates
A celebration of Women's History Month was hosted by the Santa Monica Commission on the Status of Women on March 8. The theme of the event revolved around STEM.
AAUW CA Membership Director, Ginny Hatfield, and Beach Cities Tech Trek Chair, Terry Hays-Horner, represented AAUW CA and provided a display highlighting Tech Trek.
Carol Holzgrafe, Tech Trek State Coordinator, announces the 2013 dates for most camps.
Two Tech Trek camps, Irvine and Stanford Hopper, were featured on the national CBS News recently. While the narrator neglected to mention the AAUW CA connection, plenty of viewers found their way to the Tech Trek website (www.aauw-techtrek.org) for information about our science and math camps and, in one happy case, to download the Donation Form. The video can be watched from that site too.
Camp directors Amy Harbin, Jan Cook and Marie Wolbach worked with the video team and, in the case of Irvine, allowed them to film the girls in class and on a field trip. CBS looked for science camps for girls after three young women won the top three spots in the recent, first-ever, Google International Science Fair.
Tech Trek is proud to announce that the keynote speaker for their reunion will be Dr. Maria Klawe, President of Harvey Mudd College. Dr. Klawe is a mathematician.
The Tech Trek reunion is April 10, 2011 from 2-5 pm at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. Registration for the reunion is available at www.aauw-techtrek.org.
Tech Trek camp directors met recently in Camarillo to discuss both the recently completed camps of 2010, successful every one!, and plan summer 2011 camps.
Beginning next summer, Tech Trek will have a 9th camp, at U.C. Davis. Planning for this camp has been underway since February with Lisa Beauchamp of the Sacramento branch as camp director. She will be ably assisted by Deedee Hays also of the Sacramento branch. Stay tuned for further information.
