Berkeley Women Vote: Celebrating California Suffrage 1911-2011

Join us to march as 1911-style suffrage supporters the morning of Sunday, September 11 as part of the band of suffragists at the Solano Stroll in Berkeley.

Sign up to march by emailing us at berkeleywomenvote@gmail.com

Costumes may be exact or approximate: suffrage supporters often wore all white or added purple and yellow; big hats with flowers and ribbons or straw boaters or other hats for men. Purple sashes celebrating the centennial are available or wear yellow votes for women sashes.

Voting rights are precious; we need to celebrate and defend the right of every citizen to vote--as our signs will proclaim.

Sponsored by the Berkeley Historical Society, League of Women Voters, Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, American Association of University Women, Berkeley Branch, and the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library.
