VGIF Celebrates its 40th Anniversary with Trip to Nepal & India
Don’t miss this unique travel itinerary that combines the treasures of Nepal and India with an opportunity for cultural exchange and sharing of ideas in VGIF’s mission to empower women and girls in developing countries.
It’s not too late! With a deadline of September 4th, you can still register with VGIF’s partner, Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF), which is offering flexible land and air packages (for U.S. delegates) and land-only packages for all interested participants in the Friendship Tour to Nepal and India.
The trip will include visits to Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and Calcutta, as well as an optional tour to Kathmandu and Chitwan in Nepal. The tour will be highlighted by a visit to Project Five-O Calcutta, one of VGIF’s earliest projects, and an evening reception and day-long conference entitled “Women, Water, and Food Security” to be co-sponsored by VGIF, the Indian Federation of University Women (IFUWA), and the American Center in Calcutta. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet with project directors from organizations that VGIF has funded in India over the last few years.
View all details of the travel packages, including cost and registration capability and conference highlights, at the FAF web site, or go directly to the VGIF trip page by clicking here.

When Transworld Airways booked its last flights we used frequent flyer mileage and went to India and Nepal. We did not visit Calcutta but we did go to the other places on this trip. What a wonderful opportunity to travel with like-minded people to an enchanting sub-continent where people with nothing still appear to be be happy - a different way of viewing life than what we see in USA very often.
